Urban Design Principles Open House #2

Tell us on February 23 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 350 1st Avenue, between 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm, Parking is FREE.
The City of Cedar Rapids Community Development Staff invites your organization to participate in the development of Urban Design Principles. We ask that you provide feedback on three different concepts, The Automobile City, Traditional City and Green City. Each concept features a different approach to elements such as community identity, building location and scale, architectural design, landscape and public spaces, and parking. Lana Baldus, Chairwoman of the City Planning Commission, states that “good Urban Design Principles encourage quality development, promotes sustainability and ensure a transparent, consistent project review process.” The feedback will help to determine the future look and feel of Cedar Rapids. Please attend and tell us what principles you feel are necessary to continue to make the City of Cedar Rapids a vibrant urban hometown.
