June Meeting

Have you ever walked into Small Claims court for a simple hearing for possession to see that your tenant has a Legal Aid attorney at their side? Suddenly, the case you thought was cut and dried turns complicated and the judge throws it out, thanks to the help of your renter’s free attorney.

Jim Kringlen, managing attorney for the Iowa Legal Aid regional office in Cedar Rapids, will present our program on Thursday evening, June 8th. His topic, “The Ten Most Common Illegal Lease Provisions” is a subject you cannot miss.

If you don’t have Iowa Legal Aid’s publication “A Guide to Landlord Tenant Law in Iowa” we will have several available at the meeting for $20.00.

Our social will start at 6:00 pm, on Thursday, June 8, at the Longbranch. Our buffet dinner will be ready after 6:30, and the program will begin at 7:00. This will be a well attended meeting. Be sure to let us know you are coming, for both room setup and food prep, using the following link:
