February Meeting


Two hot topics  —  bedbugs and mold  —  will be addressed at our February meeting on Thursday evening, 7:00 PM on the 9th at The Longbranch. Jason Bailey, owner of Actually Clean, will share his experiences of using his specially trained dog to sniff out bedbugs and mold hidden in our homes.

Social will start at 6:00, with the buffet open around 6:45.  This month the meal will feature the Longbranch’s specialty – BBQ ribs, along with cheesy potatoes, steamed fresh veggies, salad bar, and of course their delicious desserts.  As always, we need to give the Longbranch an accurate attendance count for both food prep and room set-up.  Be sure to respond using the form below, no later than Sunday evening.

For our March meeting, we will be doing something different.  Rather than a Thursday noon meeting, we will be spending  Wednesday afternoon, March 15, at the Cedar Rapids Downtown library, for a Lunch and Learn educational day.  In four short hours, we will feature two nationally known landlording instructors, Mr. Landlord (Jeffrey Taylor), and internet landlording guru, Lucas Hall.  The always entertaining and hilarious Mr.Landord will cover six easy ways to increase our cashflow.  Lucas Hall will present, by live webinar, Landlording 101, geared not only to those new in the business, but also the more seasoned landlords.  A Vendor Expo will also be a big part of the afternoon.  Lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided.  Plus door prizes!  All this for around $20 per attendee.  So save the date, and watch for more details in the weeks to come.

Our Board of Directors last month elected the following Officers for 2017:
President, Laura O’Leary; Vice President, Ed Faber; Secretary, Kim Frederickson; Treasurer, Dick Rehman.   Therie Cutchlow, Garry Grimm, Kathy Hall, Barb Kintzle, Linda Miller, Bob Mitchell, and Joyce Steffen comprise the rest of our hard working Board of Directors.
