October Meeting

human trafficking

Human trafficking is the second largest and fastest growing organized crime worldwide, just behind drug trafficking.  Arms and weapons trafficking follows.  Cedar Rapids lands right in the middle of a busy Midwest triangle.

A recent study estimated 210 unique ads per month from one website (which has since been taken down) here in Cedar Rapids, advertising sex victims.  Hundreds here in our own town!

Chains Interrupted is the organization in Cedar Rapids working to rescue the mental and physical captives of human trafficking.  Pam Skelton, a volunteer with Chains, will give us a program we will not forget on Thursday the 11th, 7:00 pm, at the Longbranch.  Learn how this affects our rental properties, our families, and our community, and how we landlords can recognize the signs.

As always, the Longbranch needs an accurate count for room setup and food.  RSVP today!
