Our Septmber meeting will be this Thursday the 12th at the Clarion. come at 6:00 for social, the buffet meal will be served around 6:45. Be sure to email us at [email protected] if you are coming. We must give the Clarion an accurate count for the room set-up as well as the number of meals.
Our program will begin at 7:00 PM. Our speakers will be from the newly formed C.R. Nuisance Abatement Department. Amanda Greider, Nuisance Property Abatement Coordinator, and Records Tehnician Erin Ditscheit will be introducing us to the online background checks which actually go live for Cedar Rapids on Monday the 9th. You can set up your account next week and try it out before the meeting. The link will be on CRPD’s website Monday. Erin will walk us through obtaining the background checks and navigating the website. Amanda will then explain what exactly will have to happen for a property to be considered a nuisance and the steps leading up to that.

The 25th Annual Landlords of Iowa Convention is coming up quickly! Thursday evening, September 26th will kick things off. Great seminars, delicious meals and lots of landlord information will be packed into Friday and Saturday at the Isle Casino Hotel in Waterloo.
