My wife and I have changed our mind about renting a house to our first potential tenant. Newbies as landlords, we sent the potential tenant two copies of the lease which we had signed. He hasn’t signed it yet or taken possession, nor have we cashed his deposit check. Are we entitled to walk away from the deal? Is the uncashed check relevant? What if he signs the lease? Thanks.
