We have reserved the usual room 304 for our annual Day on the Hill.
To get to Room 304 of the Capitol Building:
(from lower level, go to the rotunda. Walk past the cafeteria all the way to the end of the hall. Take a right to the single elevator. Take it to the third floor. The room is on the west (downtown DSM) side of the building).
THE Day for Landlords across the state to unite with each other, with our lobbyists,
and with the Iowa Realtors Association.
THIS IS OUR DAY to have a good showing for the Residential Rental Property Industry in Iowa.
+ We will have a morning “rally” meeting in room 304 at 8:00 to organize our message and answer any questions people may have. Room 304 will be available at 8:00 a.m. Some landlords will begin to gather at that time. Legislative schedules can be difficult. Joe Kelly will be securing legislators to meet and provide an update about the session. Some of them may be coming in as soon as 9 or 9:30. Try to get to Room 304 as close to 8:00, as possible, yet the main event starts at 10:00.
+ Stay in Room 304 for a meet and greet with sponsoring legislators. Then disperse to lobby our respective local Representatives and Senators. It’s a good idea to let your Senator and House member know that you are coming to the Capitol. You might ask them what time would work best for a brief meeting with you. We’ll meet with legislators so it’s best to let them know, in advance, that you’ll be there. Ask them for either a specific appointment time, or a general range that would work best to meet with them.
+ Then a wrap up meeting at a down town watering hole before people leave town.
