Secure and Friendly Environments in Cedar Rapids, aka SAFE-CR, was established in 2013 as a way for our city to gain control of crime in neighborhoods and “nuisance” properties. Now, after four full years, where do landlords stand in the fight against crime and those residents creating a bad environment for their peace loving neighbors?
Join us at the Longbranch Thursday evening, October 12th, as SAFE-CR Nuisance Abatement Coordinators Amanda Grieder and Annette Lorenz give us a detailed overview of the last four years. What is the benefit of addressing crime through the property owner? Is a landlord required to evict a problem tenant? What is the minimum background check required by the city code when a landlord is screening a potential renter? What resources are available to assist property owners? We will learn the answers to these questions and many more. Please note: Our speakers have requested that all questions be submitted in writing before their presentation Thursday evening.
As always, it is necessary to let us know you are attending. We need to give the Longbranch an especially accurate count for our evening buffet, as they prepare it only for our group. Please RSVP no later than Monday, using the link below. Prior questions must also be submitted using this format.
See you Thursday!
