We’ve had such a busy fall hosting our Landlords of Iowa convention, followed by a fantastic November program, our Board of Directors has decided to give us all a rest this month.
We’ll kick off 2022 with a great program and a new location, so watch for details just after New Years Day.
In November we heard from Amanda Grieder and Annette Lorenz with SAFE-CR. They discussed pending changes to the Cedar Rapids nuisance property code, chapter 22A. These changes include being deemed a nuisance property after ignoring notices to mow or shovel snow, or missing a scheduled appointment for a housing inspection, all after one violation. The first reading will go before Council this week, on Tuesday the 7th. Our Landlords of Linn County Board of Directors has decided not to officially oppose these changes.
